Long story short, me and my father went hunting during Elk season last year in Colorado. The wind chill factor was at an estimated negative 20 degrees Fahrenheit. Needless to say, we froze our A$$ES off. A portable blind would help keep the wind off us while we our hunting and would be a huge help. The only question is, is if it is legal to hunt using portable blinds during Elk season in Colorado.

The 175′s seem to shoot about as flat as the 160′s. Is this correct?
Also, is this caliber much more effective for elk than a 270 win? I have a 270 win with a 24 inch barrel and handload for it and was wondering if it would make enough difference that I should consider a 7mag. Thanks.
Me and two of my hunting buddies are going to Canada to hunt elk. The price we are paying will cover a 310-350 class elk. We are trying to figure out how much meat we will be bringing back. Does any one know how much meat you get from a pretty good sized bull elk?
I got invited to go elk hunting next year this time and I need advice..I have only deer hunted with a 30.06 never a bow and the elk hunting wed be doing is w a bow. With the budget minus the tags plane tickets etc I have about 450$ to spend on a bow which bow should I get and how can I practice so I will be able to make a good shot?
I just read a news story that said wolves and hunters are to blame for a 70% reduction of the elk population in Yellowstone National Park. Problem with that is hunting is not allowed in the boundaries of that park.
So how can hunters be blamed for this huge decrease of elk in the park?

I am uneducated in the field of nature and would like to know what trees i need to draw that you would find an elk near.
Also I need to know what a few common birds would be in this area.

I saw these guys on YouTube elk hunting. They attracted in this elk bull and all they used to call it in was a Gatorade bottle. Not that it was a bad way to call it in, it sounded pretty realistic. How can you do that? I just want to mess with my friends, lol. Best Answer will be given away.
Hi, my husband and I both work in the tech industry, and we are thinking about relocating to the Sacramento area for more affordable living. We heard that the school district in Elk Grove is great, and we also heard that there are more tech jobs in Roseville, but we’re not sure. Does anyone know if Roseville or Elk Grove (or possibly another place in the Sacramento area) is a better place to buy a house and raise a family? Thanks!
