What is the best type of paint to use on an Elk Hide drum…I use oils, will that work?

I am painting a scene on a first nations drum made out of Elk Hide. I need to know what is the best medium to use for longevity, no cracking and also should you prep the hyde with gesso or something?

What kind of gun would you use to take down a grizzly bear and a moose/elk?

I am taking a hunting trip to Alaska with some friends of mine and was wondering what kind of gun I would need. We will be hunting Elk, Wolf, Grizzly and black bear, and possibly Caribou. Any information or links would be appreciated.

How to get salt out of sausaged elk meat?

We have about 20 pounds of elk meat that we had made into sausage (ground breakfast sausage). It was our first time going to that butcher and the put WAY too much salt into it.

Does anyone know how I can get rid of some of the salt taste and still be able to use the meat? It seems like such a waste to throw it out!

My husband just bought me a Savage Youth 7mm-08. It’s as long as his 30-06 rifle, which I found confusing. Will the 7mm be enough fire-power for elk? I’m only 5’1/2″ – is it too long?

How can I turn an Elk antler into a coat rack?

I have one 3 ft + elk antler that I would like to turn into a coat rack (hanging horizontal). How could I do this? The base or core is curved so this makes it difficult. Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks!

How much would one decent elk antler be?

Not sun bleached, not with a hundred points just enough to look great, naturally shed. Not a wall mount with two, just one single nice antler? It is a gift idea and we want to see if this guy is giving us a good price. We live in Montana so it can’t be inflated with the elk we have here. Thanks.

What would you do if you seen on the news that there are staving Elk?

Hey. I seen on the news where there are starving Elk. In Washington. I live right across the river. I want to help these animals. I am an animal person. And I couldn’t stand watching what I seen on the news. It showed these animals dying and the already dead from not having food and water. And a baby Elk that was dying. This happened in 1999 also and people donated money to get seed and trees to feed these animals. I want to do that. Anyone have any ideas.
